The Veracity Highwire Ethernet over Coax Converter with PoE converts existing video infrastructure into a fast network connection. For IP cameras and mega-pixel cameras, it turns the legacy 12V or 24V power into a universal Power over Ethernet (PoE) supply. Using the converter, you can utilize old analog cabling without installing extra power for the new cameras.

Speed, duplex, and crossover are sensed on connection of the Highwire Ethernet over Coax Converter with PoE, thus requiring no setup. No configuration is required when you connect the IP camera and a regular Highwire at the other end of the cable, as the link will be established automatically. Using universal IEEE 802.3af standard, the Highwire PoE can not only detect power but also enable it for IP cameras, with up to 6.5W for Power Class 1 or 2 devices.

The connection of the Ethernet over Coax Converter with PoE is invisible to Ethernet data, and does not need a MAC or IP address. Besides auto-optimizing for all 75 ohm coaxial cables, the long connection range of the converter makes it suitable for network connections beyond 328' (100m).

Featuring a universal power input, the Highwire Ethernet over Coax Converter is ideal for low-voltage installations and can also be used on legacy coaxial cables. Compared to Cat5 cables, the coaxial cables coil and bend appropriately, making the converter apt for allowing network access to elevator carriages, VoIP, security, lift panel, and other devices.
