2.5 Gbps capacity with new MetroLinq devices

IgniteNet is introducing the MetroLinq 2.5G series point-to-point devices with an extreme capacity of 2.5 Gbps. Its new generation RF powered by a quad core CPU supports higher modulation allowing delivery of more than two times higher capacity (up to 4.6 Gbps OTA rate) compared to the first generation platform.

MetroLinq 2.5G series devices have different interfaces available to utilize the full capacity of the link including a 2.5Gbps NbaseT copper interface supporting PoE.

 

The advanced operating system has a professional feature-set required to do point-to-point communication, which includes 128  bit AES encryption for security, Jumbo frame support, 5 GHz failover radio and many more. Two model options with different sized integrated antennas are available to support different distances. Even though the average recommended distance for the 35 cm antenna is 1.6 km (1 mi) there are customers running their links at 70-80% of the maximum capacity at 2.5 km (1.6 mi), which is possibly a record distance in the 60GHz unlicensed band.
